Lake Eyasi is a very scenic soda lake found on the southern border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a couple of hours drive from Karatu. This less visited lake lies at the base of the Eyasi escarpment on the western Great Rift Valley wall, bordered by the Eyasi Escarpment in the northwest and the Kidero Mountains in the south.

This is a hot, dry land, around which live the Hadzabe people, often associated with the Khoisan languages in Southern Africa because of their click language. The Hadzabe are believed to have lived here for nearly 10,000 years and continue to follow hunting-and-gathering traditions. Also in the area are the Iraqw (Mbulu), a people of Cushitic origin who arrived about 2000 years ago, as well as the Datoga also Cushitic, the Maasai and various Bantu groups including the Nyakyusa, Nyamwezi, Chaga and Meru. The area is Tanzania’s main onion-growing center, and there are impressive irrigation systems along the Chemchem River drawing its water from natural springs.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arusha Tarangire

    After breakfast starting safari from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular between June and September, the dry period. During this time thousands of animals- wildebeest, buffalo, and Oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steeple to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lion, leopard and other predators follow the herds. Tarangire is home to over 500 varieties of birds. Have lunch and take a late afternoon game viewing and drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight

  • Day 2 Lake Manyara

    After breakfast we drive on a tarmac road 40km with a lunch box to Lake Manyara National Park for afternoon game drives. Start the game drive through underground water forest, proceed to acacia woodland savanna open land, pass by hot water spring, and proceed to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara is home for many flamingos and other water birds. The park is home to tree climbing lions, hippo, elephant, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, baboon, blue and velvet monkey, warthog, and more. About 350 species of birds have been recorded here. You will have a picnic lunch, dinner, and overnight at the lodge

  • Day 3 Serenegti National PARK

    8.30am After early breakfast we leave for Serengeti National Park, driving through Ngorongoro conservation area, with optional of visiting Olduvai Gorge (known as cradle of mankind the hominids dating 2millions years back). The game drive takes us to the vast Serengeti plains home of the big game animals, the predators, great migration and the Nile crocodiles .06:30 pm At sunset you are drive for dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

  • Day 4 & 5 Full Game Drive - Serengeti

    After breakfast we start a day with the morning game drives in Serengeti National Park marveling at the stunning scenery, ever changing light and always entertaining wildlife, all explained to you by your expert guide.With optional of picnic or hot lunch at 12:30am. And after lunch we set off again for afternoon game drives that takes us till sunset 06:30PM. when we drive to the Camp for dinner and overnight at the lodge

  • Day 6 Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

    After breakfast, depart from Serengeti Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Wake up for early morning game drives in Serengeti then head back to the lodge for breakfast. You will then check out and drive with lunch and game viewing en route to Ngorongoro Crater rim for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 7 Ngorongoro - Lake Eyasi

    Leave 6:00am from the camp in the morning just after breakfast, drive to the crater for another day of game drives highlights includes the rare spotted black rhino, big game animals, the stunning crater floor, Stop at the picnic site for lunch at 2:00PM and after lunch make game en route to Ascent the Crater and drive to lake Eyasi to visiting Bush man tribe. Arrive at 05:00PM. Take a time to visiting lake Eyasi for sunset then drive back for dinner and overnight at the the Lodge.

  • Day 8 Lake Eyasi - Mto wa Mbu

    Early in the morning before breakfast we leave the Camp and going to visit The Hadzabe people and is a an original hunter-gatherer population of Africa. Get the history from the guide which is speaking the same language and going to hunting with them after that we visit another tribe called Taturu sometimes known as Mang’ati who still live in their traditional way. Then drive back to the Camp for breakfast and lunch together Later drive to Mto wa Mmbu area for overnight at the Lodge.

  • Day 9 Walking Tour & Cultural Visits

    After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara Area for a walking safari at Mto wa Mmbu village. Visit 120 Tanzanian tribes and learn how they can live together without conflict. Visit the factory of local brew and the farm of rice. After that you will finish with a visit to the Masai tribe. Then drive to lake Natron for dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

  • Day 10 Mto wa Mbu - Lake Natron

    We leave the camp after breakfast and drive with a lunch box as we heading towards Lake Natron. There are rugged mountains where vultures soar and baboons bark, dusty gorges where the Masai bring their cattle to drink and endless grassy plains. Arrive at Lake Natron in the evening approximately around 4:30pm for dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

  • Day 11 Lake Natron - Arusha

    Early in the morning before breakfast in the sunrise time you will enjoy the spectacular tour in the soda Lake of Natron and the beautiful waterfall flow from highlands toward the direction of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lake Natron is lying in a beautiful scenic area below the Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Natron has such a high concentration of sodium, that the water is often viscous to the touch.

    There is good game viewing and birding in this harsh landscape with dry country species such as gerenuk, lesser kudu, and Oryx. Natron is also the only known breeding ground for East Africa’s millions of lesser flamingos which cover the lake between August and November. After that you will drive back to the camp to have heavy brunch then Drive back to Arusha.

  • Day 12 Arusha to Kilimanjaro (Departure)

    Depart from your hotel in Arusha with the safari vehicle and drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Gate at Marangu. After a briefing from your professional guide, and starting the trekking in mount Kilimanjaro (3000mtrs Above sea level) up to Mandara Hut and have a lunch there. Enjoy the forest around Mandara area, later Listen as your guide explains the mountain’s geology—Mawenzi and Shira are extinct, while Kibo, the highest, is dormant and could erupt again. Then visiting, coffee and bananas plantations, and water falls then drive back to Arusha /Kilimanjaro Air Port.
